Hop In Microtransit Technologies Inc. (“Hop In,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy sets out the manner in which Hop In collects, uses, discloses and otherwise manages personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to the privacy practices of Hop In, including on our mobile applications (the “Apps”) and on any website or Internet service (each, a “Website”) under Hop In’s control, whether partial or otherwise, and our underlying technology platform (together, the “Services”). In certain instances, we may provide the Services on behalf of one of our subscribers (“Transport Provider”) so that you may use the Transport Provider’s services through our Services. That Transport Provider may separately publish a privacy policy sets out the manner in which the Transport Provider collects, uses, discloses and otherwise manages personal information. Such additional privacy policy forms an agreement between you and the Transport Provider, and Hop In is not a party to such agreement. However, Hop In sets out below the information that it shares with each Transport Provider.
Collection and use of personal information
The term “personal information” means information about an identifiable individual, including the name, address, email address, and other information relating to an individual.
- Register: You do not need to register to browse our Website. However, if you want to use our Apps and other Services, you must register. When you register for the Apps, we will ask for your name, phone number and email address. We use this information to administer your account and to communicate with you. Where you register with us once you will continue to have a single account with us that may be used across multiple Transport Providers.
- Communications: We may send you communications regarding new features and promotions by email, phone number or push notification. You can unsubscribe from any of our communications by following the instructions in each of our messages or by editing the settings in your account or on your device.
- Contact Us: When you contact us with a comment, question or complaint, you may be asked for information that identifies you (such as your name, address and a telephone number) along with additional information we need to help us promptly answer your question or respond to your comment. We may also retain this information to assist you in the future and to improve our customer service, and service offering.
- Transport Provider: Where you use a Transport Provider’s service through our Service, we share your personal information with that Transport Provider to the extent applicable to your use of that Transport Provider’s services. That Transport Provider may ask you to provide additional information through the Service, which information is under the control of that Transport Provider. Where the information we collect is applicable only to your activities with a particular Transport Provider (including without limitation additional information collected at the request of that Transport Provider) we do not share that information with any other Transport Provider.
Disclosure of personal information
We will not disclose, trade, rent, sell or otherwise transfer your personal information, without your consent, except as otherwise set out herein.
- Other Users: Certain of your personal information may be made available to other users of the Apps or Services.
- Service Provider Arrangements: We may transfer (or otherwise make available) your personal information to third parties that provide services on our behalf. For example, we may use service providers to authorize and process payments, host our Services and operate certain of its features. Your personal information may be maintained and processed by us or our third-party service providers in the Canada, the US, Mexico or other jurisdictions. Our service providers are given the information they need to perform their designated functions, and we do not authorize them to use or disclose personal information for their own marketing or other purposes.
